Kevin A. Leamon

Kevin A. Leamon, age 51, of Auburn, Georgia died October 22, 2012, after a brave battle with a Glioblastoma Multiforme brain tumor. He will be missed greatly and remembered as a loving father, husband, and friend.
He is survived by his wife- Karen Watson Leamon, daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Ron Shultis III of Chicago, son- Kerry Leamon of Auburn, parents – Paul and Doris Leamon of Ft. Wayne, IN; sister and brother-in-law – Patty and Dean Gloy and their children, Hogan and Henley of Sahuarita, AZ and special friends – John and Christie Buuck and their children, David and Katie of Woodstock, GA.

Kevin, a native of Ft. Wayne, IN, was the 1979 Senior Class Salutatorian at Southside High School and was a Summa Cum Laude Graduate in Computer Science from Olivet Nazarene University.  Throughout his career as a computer programmer/engineer, he worked with North American Van Lines, JHK/Transcore (for 22 years), NCR and most recently worked in tech support as a systems engineer with LexisNexis.  Among his many achievements, he was recognized with a personal commendation from the City of Los Angeles for his excellent work on their Traffic Systems Software.

Music was very important in Kevin’s life.  Kevin played the clarinet in high school, college and his church orchestra.  Hebron Baptist Church Orchestra director, Charles Brown, considers Kevin a very valued, long-time member, whose chair will be difficult to fill. He enjoyed varieties of musical styles from Christian Choral to new age instrumental and The Carpenters.  A very organized and witty guy, he also had affection for Bichon Frise dogs.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27, at 3:00 pm at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel.  The family will receive friends Friday from 4-6 pm and 7-9 pm, and Saturday from 2 pm until service time at the funeral home.  Those desiring may make donations to the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation or the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University.
